I'm a proud mother of two little boys. My youngest just turned 2! I got back into weight training several months ago to help me as I weaned my son. (Yea... I breastfed for about 21 months!) I had No problems getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight ... actually, I dropped about 10 pounds below. But while I enjoyed the extra 500 + calories a day that making milk requires... I picked up a few bad eating habits. So, once I started the weaning process, I decided it was time to up the lean muscle mass and clean up my eating habits so I didn't gain weight.
I little bit about me, I became a full time stay-at-home mommy 3 years ago, after our family moved from Camp Lejeune, NC to Quantico, VA. I have a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University but after marrying my high school sweetheart, who also is an officer in the Marine Corps, I've found it hard to pursue a full time career. No worries right now because I feel staying at home with little ones is a precious time. I"m also a volunteer leader with La Leche League, and international non-profit which helps mothers breastfeed their babies through information, support and encouragement. So if you are someone with philanthropic, deep pockets, let me know. My passion is fundraising for such a valuable cause.
I have always been into fitness... some more times than others. I focused on long distance running while I was in college. I place 2nd in my age group (19 and under) in the Marine Corps Marathon (1997) with a time of 3:33. Now that I look back at it, that was a high point in my life. Running 26 miles under an 8 minute pace! Gosh I was a freak! I do not run long distance anymore... but I still sometimes miss the endless bliss of a nice long run.
I had a BA on 2/18/2008. I have Mentor Saline Mod Profile 350 filled to 415, under the muscle. I got them a little over 3 months after weaning my last babe, so if you have any questions about BA especially after breastfeeding, I now have limited experience. So far things have gone great! I'm back to my usual workouts at the gym... though I have experienced a little bit of PO depression.
